Our Medical Research Council (MRC) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) & CASE Studentships scheme represents flagship PhD training aimed at developing the next generation of outstanding researchers across the medical and health sciences.

DTP postgraduate researchers play pivotal roles in the scientific outputs and health interventions of their host groups, and benefit from wider career enhancing activities such as industry placements, public engagement opportunities and networking events.

Address key challenges: Carry out a funded PhD project addressing some of the key priorities of the MRC and learn how to fulfil unmet healthcare needs in the UK and globally.

Receive fully funded studentship: Receive funding covering your tuition fees and an annual tax-free stipend at the UKRI minimum level.

Who is eligible?

These studentships are available to home and international candidates that:

  • Hold, or be about to obtain, a First or Upper Second class UK honours degree (or international equivalent) in an appropriate area of science, engineering or technology.
  • A Master’s qualification in a related area would be beneficial but is not essential.
