About the course

In this new course for 2022, you will study the theory, design and management of key civil engineering subjects in a zero-carbon economy.

From geotechnical to water, structural or materials engineering, study a master’s that focuses on the future of civil engineering in industry and the world. Taught in the context of a future zero-carbon economy, you’ll learn the theory and design aspects to help you navigate the new challenges up ahead successfully.

Throughout the course, a mix of theory, practical and collaborative activities help you advance your professional, design and research skills. Part of this is working in multidisciplinary design teams to solve the big problems facing the world right now. You’ll also have the opportunity to carry out a large research project with support and supervision from our academic specialists.

To help prepare you for the workplace, some of your learning experience and design work will be with students on other construction-related master’s here at Bath. This brings you into contact with a more diverse set of people and skills, echoing what it is like to work professionally in industry.

As part of this course, you will not only learn from expert academics actively researching across the civil engineering spectrum but you’ll also have access to use a range of specialist facilities.

Your future starts here

We’ve worked with our industrial partners to make sure this course prepares you with the expertise valued by employers and relevant to the future of construction.
