Programme Structure

The online Computational Linguistics MSc/PGDip/PGCert at Goldsmiths combines the study of human language with cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and large language models (LLMs). In this flexible programme, students can take breaks when needed and choose the exit pathway that best suits them:

  • Full Masters (180 credits), 24 months
  • Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits), 15 months
  • Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits), 8 months

Fit your studies around your life, with four enrolment intakes throughout the year. Start in March, June, August, or October 2027.

Fees

The estimated total cost of this programme is £12,500 GBP for the full MSc. You can pay in full or in instalments (8 modules at £1,200 each and £2,900 for the dissertation, split into 2 payments). All costs are listed to help you make an informed decision.

Entry Requirements

The Computational Linguistics MSc is designed for graduates from a broad range of related disciplines who share a passion for humanities and science.

For entry, you are expected to hold a BA or BSc Degree at level 2:2 or above in a relevant subject.

If you do not meet standard entry criteria, we may accept applications with a lower degree and significant work experience. Contact us to learn more.

If English is not your first language, you will need to supply an up-to-date English language test certificate. We accept IELTS certificates with an overall score of 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any band. Alternative test certificates are also accepted, and exemptions can be made.
