Aligned programme of study: PhD in Psychology

Project description:
The studentship will evaluate a feasibility study of Prevail to support student well-being in student populations at Swansea University and other higher educational institutions. We will develop a suitable control condition, targeting study skills, independent learning, and time management during the transition to university. This research will form the basis for a future RCT on Prevail for first-year students. The effectiveness of the intervention will be evaluated on impacts on well-being, stigma and self-stigma, help-seeking, and educational outcomes (attendance, engagement, progression, and grade attainment) throughout the degree. These outcomes are directly related to Swansea University’s strategic priorities. If successful, Prevail will provide a low-cost evidence-based approach to supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing.
