Spread the cost of studying at London Met

Don’t let short-term finances get in the way of your long-term goals. A range of bursaries, scholarships, grants, loans and fee reductions are available to London Met postgraduate students.

Pay your fees in instalments

At London Met you can pay your fees in instalments – up to nine equal instalments, to help you spread the cost of studying with us.

Postgraduate Loan

The Student Loans Company offers a non-means-tested Postgraduate Loan of up to £10,609 to those studying for a postgraduate master’s or a research-based master’s course.

How you spend it is at your own discretion, and it doesn’t need to be repaid until you have finished your course and are earning more than £21,000 per year.

Professional and Career Development Loan

This loan is offered by The Co-operative Bank to help you pay for a professional/work-related course that lasts up to two years (or three years if it includes a year of work experience).

The government pays the interest while you study, and for one month after you leave your course.

You may be able to borrow between £300 and £10,000.

PhD Loan

From 2018/19 English students without a Research Council living allowance may be able to take out a non-means-tested loan of up to £25,000, to help them cover the cost of a PhD.

Again, this loan won’t need to be repaid until you have finished your course and are earning more than £21,000 per year.
