Master’s Programmes

We provide an expanding portfolio of full-and-part-time courses covering a broad range of subjects across three faculties; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Arts and Sciences; and the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. Recognising your existing commitment to full or part-time employment, we strive to provide a learning experience which is flexible but also designed to meet professional needs and learning requirements. Our programmes aim to develop a deeper knowledge and comprehensive techniques in dedicated topics previously studied more generally at undergraduate level. State-Of-The-Art Facilities

Edge Hill is highly praised for its state-of-the-art facilities which have benefited from recent investment to enhance teaching and learning. Over the last six years major campus developments include a £13m Technology Hub; £17m Creative Edge Building; £26m Catalyst building; £30m Sports Centre; a newly developed Arts Centre and new Geography and Biology laboratories. There are also plenty of subject specific facilities, such as recording studios and sound-editing suites for media students, a clinical skills and stimulation centre for health and social care students and specialist biomechanics workshops for sport science students. Catalyst, home of the university library and support services, offers a wide range of work environments to enrich your studies including several high-performance workstations with access to specialised software, as well as skill-enhancement workshops. Funding Your Master’s Programme

Tuition fees will vary depending on the qualification and faculty delivering the programme, however there are several options available for funding your master’s degree.

Edge Hill offers a range of scholarships to postgraduate students available to talented students for their creative writing or sporting abilities, for academic excellence, or those who have made an exceptional contribution to the university community. Teacher Training scholarships are available for certain secondary teaching subjects.

Loans provide up to £10,906 for taught master’s degrees. These are non-means-tested awards intended as a contribution to the cost of study and can be used at your discretion. If you’re studying part-time, the amount can be divided equally across each year of study. If you are aged under 25 at the start of your course and have spent a minimum of 13 weeks in Local Authority care you may also be eligible for a Care Leavers Bursary.

Graduates joining a full or part-time taught Master’s may be entitled to a 20% reduction in tuition fees if you have graduated from Edge Hill since July 2016 you could benefit from fee remission. To be eligible for this offer, you must have Home or EU resident status and be paying the fees yourself. ERASMUS and Study Abroad students who have studied at least one semester may also qualify.
