There are four different faculties within the University: Business and Law, Arts and Humanities, Health and Education, and Science and Engineering, with more than 150 postgraduate taught courses on offer, alongside our Doctoral College, designed to support postgraduate research students to thrive.

Our Study Skills team is accessible online or on-campus, providing short courses, group workshops, writing feedback, and one-to-one appointments. Whether you need assistance with academic writing, maths and statistics, or developing new study techniques, we're here to support your academic journey.
  • The Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service offer tailored support through one-to-one appointments, group workshops covering topics such as relaxation, stress management, and building confidence, and access to our 24/7 student support helpline.
  • Manchester Met Sport provides opportunities to stay active through our free sport and fitness timetable and Mcr Met Moves app, where you can earn rewards for staying active.
  • Our Chaplaincy team offers pastoral care and tranquil spaces for prayer or reflection, welcoming individuals of all faiths or non-faith backgrounds.
  • The Disability Service ensures that students facing challenges due to disability, long-term health conditions, or specific learning difficulties receive the support they need. They offer guidance on available resources within the University and from external agencies.   • For international students, the Language Centre offers free British Council-accredited intensive courses in academic English to support your studies.

Across the University, our students benefit from cutting‑edge simulation suites, advanced laboratories, specialist studios and modern digital production spaces that mirror real professional settings. From immersive environments across health and education like The CAVE, an interactive room that can replicate any physical environment virtually, and state‑of‑the‑art clinical and pathology labs, to expansive art and design workshops, fashion studios, media production spaces and architecture CAD suites, designed to bring ideas to life. The campus is built to support hands‑on exploration and innovation.

Our science and engineering students work in high‑tech environments such as the SuperLab, rooftop greenhouses and the Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre, using modern technology to giving them the chance to experiment, test ideas and build real confidence with the tools and technologies they’ll use in their future careers. Students across business and law can spend time in professional grade environments like the Bloomberg Trading Suite and the Moot Courtroom, which means they get used to the kinds of places they’ll eventually work in. These environments are designed to make our students feel at home with real professional settings, giving them confidence and a genuine head start before they even graduate.
