National Eye Research Centre

We provide grants to UK institutions which conduct ophthalmic research. The charity does not offer grants to non-UK host institutions or for patient support.
To date, we have awarded grants totalling over £17m through the following funding schemes:

• PhD studentships (up to £70,000 for up to over 3 years)
• Projects (up to £70,000 for up to over 3 years)
• Seed grants (up to £10,000)
• Travel grants
• Equipment grants

Our funding strategy and procedures are published online. However, please note that all our funding schemes are currently closed to applications. We are reviewing our research strategy and we will provide further details on our future funding schemes in due course.
