About the University of Exeter Law School

Whether you’re considering pursuing Law after your Bachelors graduation, looking for a change of career or keen to build success in a Law-related field, studying a Masters at the University of Exeter’s Law School is an invaluable next step for your future.

Our 12 postgraduate courses require no previous study of Law and bring together a diverse, supportive and international community of students. Taught by leading academics, our Masters degrees offer the opportunity for you to tailor your learning to your own interests while gaining sought-after skills, real-world knowledge and a professional network spanning around the world.

You can apply for one of our Masters courses with an undergraduate degree in any subject: there’s no requirement to have studied law before starting with us, as the course content is designed to ensure you graduate with a full skillset and base of expertise.

Student life

Streatham Campus offers an unrivalled environment for both study and leisure. Surrounded by green spaces, national parks, and gorgeous beaches, the location is consistently ranked among the safest areas in the UK (Devon and Cornwall, Office for National Statistics).

On the campus you’ll find state-of-the-art facilities, including a 24/7 main library and Lasok Law Library, study areas and sector-leading sports spaces. Exeter’s reputation for sports excellence is reflected in our British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) ranking as the top university in the South of England and Wales.

Our vibrant student community is possibly the greatest highlight of postgraduate life at Exeter. The University is home to around 7,500 international students from 150 countries, and with over 400 clubs and societies on offer across our campuses, there are endless opportunities to meet people and make connections.

While many of our graduates go on to private practice, corporate and public employment, our Law degrees also provide excellent preparation for other related career paths, including in trade, insurance, government and NGOs.

Supporting your studies and wellbeing

Your wellbeing is our priority. You will have a personal tutor assigned to support you throughout your studies, as well as access to the University’s services, resources and facilities, including Streatham Campus’s new £2.7 million Wellbeing Services space.

For international students, we provide a wide range of dedicated services, such as English Language support and visa assistance.

Funding and scholarships

We understand that postgraduate study is a significant investment, which is why we’re proud to offer a wide range of funding and scholarship opportunities to support talented individuals from diverse backgrounds to study with us.

This includes sport and music scholarships, a University of Exeter Alumni Scholarship and over £7 million of scholarships for international students starting in 2026/27 via awards such as the Exeter Excellence Scholarships .
