Careers built for what comes next
Kent's careers support is not an afterthought, it starts from day one, through our award-winning Careers and Employability Service. Book a 1-2-1 appointment whenever you need one, get into workshops and networking events with real employers, and whether you are a taught student planning your next move or a researcher exploring your options. Our Kent Employability Promise is our commitment that you graduate with the skills and experience employers genuinely value.
Need to earn while you study? Jobshop connects you with part-time and temporary work on and around campus.

Learning designed around your life
We asked our students what would make university work better, then rebuilt how you learn around the answer. This led to student-focused learning through Kent 2030: two modules per term, taught and assessed within that same term. Get guaranteed free days every week, for work, family, research, whatever life needs from you. And postgraduates get something nobody else does: a whole extra term in late summer, built just for you.
A leading university, research that changes lives
The most recent Research Excellence Framework confirmed what we are proud to already know: Kent is a world-leading research university, across arts and humanities, sciences and social sciences. And we are just as proud as we work towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, with sustainability programmes you can genuinely get involved in.
Community & Support
This is not just enrolment, it is belonging. Kent Students' Union runs dedicated spaces for postgraduates, like the Postgraduate Network, part social scene, part collective voice, and the Mature, Part-Time, Commuting and Caring Students Network, for anyone whose university life does not look like the standard picture. Researchers get their own seat too, through the PGR Student Advisory Board, which puts students from every school directly into the room where real decisions get made.
There is fun on tap as well. Give It A Go hands you a whole calendar of things to try, no commitment attached.
Need visa or immigration guidance? Our Advice Service offers free, impartial and confidential support, and can walk you through the practicalities of studying in the UK. Wherever you are on your journey, student support has your back.
Whatever comes up, student support is there for you, wellbeing, disability support, all of it.
