EPSRC-MRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine develops therapies for ageing, degenerative and injury-related pathologies. Our CDT provides a genuinely multidisciplinary training across the spectrum of regenerative medicine, turning out future leaders equipped to meet the needs of academia and industry.

What is the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT)?

We offer a comprehensive training programme that encompasses formal training and PhD research projects that integrate elements of bioengineering, nanotechnology and biomaterials, stem cell biology, extracellular matrix and inflammation, translational gene/cell therapies and tissue engineering. This is all delivered on our state-of-the-art biomedical campus.

Clinical translational skills and training in the commercial translation of regenerative medicine will be provided, alongside industrial partners who contribute placement opportunities. Our outward-looking ethos includes training that is linked with national colleagues in UK Regenerative Medicine Platform hubs. Outstanding international exchange opportunities are also available with seven world-leading groups in Asia, the USA and Europe.
