Research degree opportunities

We have a range of opportunities for you to work with highly regarded research groups and in leading research centres. You can choose from courses including MPhil, PhD and Professional Doctorate research degrees on full-time, part-time, and distance learning routes - this flexibility for our students is part of why we were named University of the Year.

All of our academic schools are involved in research, so wherever your interests lie you can be sure we have the facilities and staff to help you make a real difference in your field. We're proud of the real-world relevance of our courses and of our world-class research which earned us a Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2015. We have four research degree start dates throughout the year: October, January, April and June. We also offer many competitive scholarships for research students to support you with your work.
