You’ll learn to systematically analyse problems and develop computational solutions. This sets you up for a wide range of careers in the likes of software engineering, network security, app development and database management.
Your studies will conclude with an individual masters project, allowing you to tailor your learning to your unique interests.
You’ll also develop key employability skills such as teamwork, communication, report writing, and negotiation – all sought-after by employers.
You can study this masters degree full-time over one year or with an optional industry placement year, extending its duration to two years. A placement is a great opportunity for you to expand your network, learn new skills and specialise in your chosen field. It is your responsibility to search and apply for advertised placement opportunities, but you’ll be supported by academic staff and the University’s Careers and Employability Service to find a placement that is suited to you and your career ambitions.
This conversion course is open to anyone with a UK honours degree – at least a 2:2 or the international equivalent – for all subjects excluding core Computer Science courses (eg BSc Computer Science, BSc Computing).
