British Association for Chinese Studies Taiwan Studentships

BACS administers a competitive scholarship programme on behalf of the Taiwan Ministry of Education for nine-month, six-month, three-month and two-month language programmes at approved centres in Taiwan. A monthly stipend of NT$25,000 is provided to cover fees and to contribute to maintenance expenses.

Application deadlines are usually around March of each year, for studentships to be taken up that summer/autumn/spring or the following spring. For information about study in Taiwan, see https://www.studyintaiwan.org/scholarship

Follow this link for a list of Language Centres recognised by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan.
Those intending to apply should consider sitting the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language if they do not hold any formal Mandarin qualifications.

Fees

A monthly stipend of NT$25,000 is provided to cover fees and to contribute to maintenance expenses. The scheme is open to any student on a full-time or part-time Chinese language course provided the student holds a full UK passport. All applicants must have a basic grounding in Chinese.
