Do you want to lead change, and help to change the world for the better? Our Master of Public Administration (MPA) degrees will provide you with the skills needed to work at the interface between science, technology, engineering and public policy.
Our MPA programmes will help you to understand the conceptual frameworks, interdisciplinary evidence, policymaking tools and analytical methods needed to develop innovative science and engineering policies. You will learn how policies are implemented, and how evidence is generated and governed to support appraisal and evaluation.
Within the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP), we have five MPA programmes, allowing you to specialise in your chosen subject of interest within the field of science, technology, engineering and public policy.
You will work with an external client on a relevant policy challenge as part of the MPA Group or undertake an Individual Project with an existing employer. Over the course of the nine-month project, you will develop and enhance key skills such as data collection and analysis, written and oral communication and project management.
Previous industry partners include BSI, Royal Academy of Engineering, Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, Save the Children and the World Health Organisation.
Students also have the opportunity to network with UCL STEaPP’s broad range of international partners, expert Faculty members and a diverse range of academics and professionals from across the department’s MPA and doctoral programmes, as well as the wider UCL community.
