High Quality Teaching

You will be taught by world-leading researchers and experts, including Dr Vincent Teng whose research interest is in the study of nanoscale electronic materials and devices. This involves research into low-dimensional electronic materials, such as graphene, metal-oxide and nitride nanostructures etc, in the development of novel devices for applications in healthcare, optoelectronics and energy technologies.

Exceptional Facilities

We have multiple teaching and research spaces for students. The main Electrical lab has desk space for 96 students and we have spent £750,000 on our equipment and facilities for Electrical students. We have separate labs for Bachelor’s and Master’s students, which is suited for the kind of work and research taking place on the different courses.

Links With Industry

Some notable companies that we have links with and our graduates have gone on to work for include Intel, BAE Systems, Ministry of Defence, and BBC. From Power Electronics to NanoElectronics shaping our future, Electrical Engineers can work on a wide range of components, devices and systems, from tiny microchips to huge power station generators, so it’s a very challenging but also diverse field.
