Join a global community of the brightest and most ambitious graduate students at one of the world’s top law schools by choosing the Master of Laws (LLM) at UCL Faculty of Laws.

Based in the heart of legal London, this 10-month programme offers a wide range of specialised pathways and is taught by world-leading academics whose research informs global practice and policy. Through a rigorous and engaging curriculum, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in legal practice, policymaking, or academia in an in a global legal environment. 

You can choose to build a broad foundation across multiple legal disciplines or specialise in a particular field, including commercial and corporate law, human rights, global health governance, environmental law, intellectual property, or international law. If you have a clear area of focus, you may apply directly to a specialism route, aligning your studies closely with your goals. Alternatively, the general LLM route offers the flexibility to explore a wider range of legal areas.

The 10-month study period allows you to fast-track your career, giving you a head start in industry and a competitive edge in the job market. For those already in practice, or with other responsibilities, there is the option to study part-time over two years (10 month each), or a modular/flexible option in which students will have up to five years (10 months each) to complete their degree.

Meet UCL Faculty of Laws at our in-person open day

11 March 2026, 13:45 — 16:30

Join us at Bentham House, home of UCL Laws, for an in-person open day about the UCL Master of Laws (LLM). The day includes an overview of the LLM, short academic talks, and a student panel with Q&A. You will also learn about the Centre for Access to Justice. The event ends with an informal reception. Find out about LLM modules, specialist pathways, admissions, and what it is like to study law in London.
