MSc Computing Courses

Solent University’s computing degrees are well suited to students from a wide range of backgrounds, helping you to develop new skills and gain an advanced knowledge of computing, networking and information security, opening doors to a wide range of careers.  You’ll be exposed to a wide range of both existing and emerging technologies and cover areas such as coding, software development, problem solving, computing, digital technologies, engineering and design, UX design, front-end web development and developing applications for real-world problems.

Facilities

We have specialist computing, usability, device testing and networking labs with a wide variety of real-world networking equipment from Cisco, Fluke and HP, plus high-fidelity simulation systems, including the market-leading Opnet. You’ll use Alienware computers,.

Industry links

With a strong focus on employability, and to complement studies, our courses offer students the opportunity to work on live briefs, events, code jams and projects with real-world companies, work placement opportunities or a research placement. Solent hosts regular British Computer Society (BCS) professional development events, providing industry speakers and helping students build their professional network.

Conversion degrees

Our computer conversion courses are suitable for those applicants who do not have a computer science or STEM background, but wish to start a new career in computing. These courses do not require any prior technical knowledge.

AI scholarship

Our MSc Applied AI and Data Science course offers scholarships (£10,000 each) as part of the £13million Office for Students (OfS) funding initiative (#JoinYourAIFuture) and work placement opportunities to increase the skilled workforce and diversity in AI and data science.

Funding options

We have several academic scholarships available which are rewarded based on your entry grades. We also offer a sport scholarship to those competing at national or international level in their sport.
