Every postgraduate researcher is supported by a dedicated supervisory team of experienced academics. Your supervisors will provide expert guidance, constructive feedback and ongoing pastoral support, helping you develop your project and progress confidently through each stage of your degree.

Funded PhD studentships

The University regularly offers fully funded PhD studentships across key research areas, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with leading academics on projects addressing important contemporary challenges.

Through the South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership we offer funded doctoral opportunities in areas including Sport, Leisure and Tourism and Psychology (Social Sciences).

Studentships typically include:

  • Full tuition fee
  • Annual maintenance grant of £20,780 (2025/26)
