The Professional Doctorate in Health at the University of Bath is a part-time distance learning programme, designed specifically to help develop research and leadership skills in health and social care.
By combining self-paced online learning with virtual Summer Schools (typically five days in length), the programme aims to meet the learning needs of busy health and social care practitioners.
“The platform that’s used for conducting research and interacting with the tutors is really quite an excellent one.” (Kunle Odetoyinbo, Professional Doctorate in Health graduate)
The course offers:
Summer School
There are two summers schools that you will be required to attend. The first is at the beginning of your studies, and the second is at the beginning of year two of your studies. Summer Schools provide an excellent opportunity for students to undertake face-to-face study, and meet their peers, whilst working towards their qualification.
Time required for study
We recognise that many of our students are in demanding full-time health or social care jobs. The Professional Doctorate in Health is designed to be flexible and supportive in order to accommodate these demands. Students commit approximately 15 hours per-week (on average) to their studies.
