Research Degree Opportunities at University of Winchester

  • South East, All EnglandSouth East, All England

Description

As a research student at Winchester you will join a thriving community of staff and postgraduate students who share scholarly interests, attend seminars and conferences and social events. Support mechanisms are first-class and the learning environment is professional but friendly. All our research students are encouraged to become active contributors to the research community at the University.

When you pursue a research degree such as a MPhil or a PhD you will be working alongside inspirational research-active academics, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields. Our reputation for research excellence is growing as we continue to deliver impact at regional, national and international levels.

You will be allocated to a supervisory team headed up by a Director of Studies. Your Director of Studies will be an expert in your chosen field of study and they will advise and support you as you progress through your research. All our supervisors regularly publish in their field and you can be confident in the expertise they bring to your project.

Research occurs across all of our five faculties, and includes work which seeks to:

  • Help child witnesses to remember more
  • Safeguard and enhance tranquillity in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs)
  • Improve community health and wellbeing through social prescribing
  • Develop the next generation of primary schools’ physical education teachers
  • Transform how we understand early medieval human-animal interactions

Subject areas where our research supervision is currently available in can be found on our website.
