About us
At the University of Plymouth, we are proud to offer an education that prepares you for what comes next. 94% of our graduates are working or studying 15 months after graduating (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2026).
Set in the heart of Britain’s Ocean City, with beautiful countryside and stunning sandy beaches on our doorstep, Plymouth offers a unique environment in which to study, work and live. The city has been found to be 51% cheaper than London in terms of day-to-day living costs, including rent (livingcost.org), helping you make the most of your time here while balancing your studies with work and life.
Whether you’re looking to advance your career, develop specialist expertise or take your career in a new direction, we offer a welcoming and inclusive community where you can build the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve your goals.
Support
Throughout your studies, you’ll benefit from a supportive learning environment, with tutors and academic staff on hand to offer guidance and advice. You’ll also have access to careers support to help you develop your skills, identify opportunities and take the next step towards your career goals.
Our Careers Service provides support while you are studying and after you graduate, helping you make informed career decisions, develop transferable skills and explore opportunities.
Our strong links with employers and industry help you gain insight into the world of work, with opportunities to develop transferable skills through real and simulated industry experiences.
Depending on your programme, you may also have opportunities for placements or to work with external organisations, businesses and professional partners, helping you apply your knowledge and build valuable experience.
You’ll also have access to non-academic and wellbeing support, with advice and guidance on areas including mental health, disability, money and cost of living.
