Expand your horizons and embark on a global research journey with our International Partnership PhD Studentship.

Our fully funded International Partnership PhD Studentship enables postgraduate researchers in biology, medicine and health to undertake a PhD at Manchester and spend time at one of our international partner institutions.

The programme allows you to gain a global perspective on your specialist area of research, while learning from leading academics and benefitting from research expertise and facilities at both universities.

International Partnership PhD Studentship projects are now live and applications are open until 22 November 2025.

  • Funding: Receive a fully funded studentship covering tuition fees and an annual stipend at the UKRI rate as well as additional funding for training and postgraduate research travel costs.

Who is eligible?

These studentships are available to home and international candidates that:

  • Hold, or are about to obtain, a First or Upper Second class UK honours degree (or international equivalent) in an appropriate area.
