Description

Established in 1998, the UCL Centre for Systems Engineering is a centre for excellence for systems engineering and managing complex technology projects.

The demand for systems expertise is high across many industries, from defence, rail and space, to construction, tourism and any other sector involved in large, complex projects. Organisations need to be able to design, build, operate and improve the challenging, highly integrated systems they run – and they need those systems to last and be effective over time.

The UCL Centre for Systems Engineering has been accredited by the Institution for Engineering and Technology, with our courses commended for our closeness to industry and support for students. Drawing inspiration from the space sector, and UCL’s expertise amassed from over 200 space missions, the centre shares new systems thinking with engineers across other sectors.

Study with us to build your expertise in this sought-after area, working with UCL’s experts as part of our thriving systems engineering community.

Our programmes:

  • MSc in Systems Engineering Management
Designed specifically for engineering professionals working on complex systems development, this programme encompasses not just the technical tools and approaches you need to be an effective systems engineer, but also the management dimension of the relevant processes, too.
  • MSc in Technology Management
If you’re looking to move into technology or engineering management, this master’s offers the perfect mix. Study project management, technology-focused teaching and systems engineering training, tapping into expertise from the Technology Management Group of UCL's Mullard Space Science Laboratory and UCL Centre for Systems Engineering.
  • MSc in Management of Complex Projects
In today's fast-moving, global marketplace, traditional project management techniques based around strategic planning and control aren’t always enough. Many modern projects involve tough technical problems requiring co-ordination across many suppliers, and unclear specifications. Our new Management of Complex Projects MSc will equip you to be a project manager capable of leading the most challenging of projects.
