The Martingale Foundation supports a new generation of postgraduates to thrive in research.

Through fully-funded Scholarships and access to a community of pioneering leaders, we enable and nurture talented individuals from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to thrive within world-leading postgraduate study.

For the 2026 Martingale Scholarships, we are supporting select Masters and PhDs in the mathematical sciences, artificial intelligence, data science in healthcare and engineering at leading research universities in the UK.

Martingale provides crucial support through:

• A fully-funded Scholarship to pursue a Masters or PhD at one of our partner universities.
• All tuition fees and research expenses, including a tax-free stipend set according to the Living Wage Foundation.
• Tailored university application support that covers the application process for each university.
•  A comprehensive professional development programme that includes leadership training and connections with top academic and industry professionals.
• Membership of a prestigious research community.

We are looking for candidates who have the academic potential and motivated to undertake postgraduate research. The Scholarship is open to those eligible to commence a Masters or PhD in September 2026, qualify for Home Fee status at our partner universities and have faced or are facing financial barriers.
