Fully-funded Masters and PhD scholarships – apply now for 2027

Martingale Foundation is on a mission to open-up postgraduate research opportunities to more talented students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds.

This year Martingale is offering maths and AI postgraduate scholarships in partnership with ten leading research universities around the country.

Applications for Martingale Scholarships are now open, for postgraduate courses starting in 2027.

Together with its university partners, Martingale enables and nurtures talented individuals from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to thrive within world-leading postgraduate study.

Martingale Scholarships provide crucial support through:

• A fully-funded scholarship to pursue a masters or PhD at one of our ten partner universities.
• All tuition fees and research expenses, including a tax-free stipend set according to the Living Wage Foundation.
• Tailored university application support that covers the application process for each partner university.
• A comprehensive professional development programme that includes leadership training and connections with top academic and industry professionals.
• Membership of a prestigious nationwide research community

Martingale is looking for candidates who have a passion for maths or computer science research and want to take the next steps in their academic career.

Martingale Scholarships are also for talented students who may have told themselves postgraduate study isn’t a route for them – with Martingale Scholarships, it could be.

Martingale Scholarships are open to those eligible to commence a masters or PhD in September 2027, qualify for Home Fee status at our partner universities and have faced or are facing financial barriers.
