The UCL Institute of Archaeology is one of the most highly regarded centres for archaeology, cultural heritage and museum studies in the world. We are ranked 3rd in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024. We are one of the very few places actively pursuing research on a truly global scale in the archaeological sciences, heritage studies and world archaeology.

Our degree programmes offer a remarkable variety of course options, both theoretical and practical, covering a diverse array of archaeological topics, and wide-ranging funded fieldwork opportunities.

We are an intellectually diverse and world-leading Faculty, with the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2024 placing our social sciences 14th in the world and our arts and humanities disciplines 6th.
