The PhD programme at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City St George’s, University of London is offering 15 PhD studentships comprising full tuition fees and maintenance grant of £22,780 pa for four years, starting in October 2026. Studentships also offer funding for attendance at selected conferences.
This year, we are also offering an OFGEM-funded PhD scholarship at the interface of consumer behaviour and energy markets. The successful candidate will probably be supervised jointly by Professor Mukhopadhyay and Professor Estes and will be expected to spend approximately 10 hours per week working with the sponsor.
Research areas
PhD applications are sought from exceptional UK and overseas graduates and will be given to students on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and research potential in the following subject areas. This year, we particularly welcome applications aligned with our four strategic research themes on societal challenges, the future of finance and insurance, technology and innovation (with a strong focus on AI), and understanding the transforming world, although exceptional candidates in other areas will also be considered.
